Kah Kit Yoong I'm pleased to announce that my image "Wilderness Coast" picked up first prize in the black and white category of the ANZANG competition, Australia's most prestigious nature photography contest. I also had two images commended in the interpretive category.
Kah Kit Yoong One of two images in this portfolio to be in the finals of New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year contest. I wrote some extensive notes for the exhibition on my blog, where links to the competition and Auckland museum are provided.
A Moment of Clarity - Mount Cook NP - Kah Kit Yoong
Kah Kit Yoong There are many similarities between Cornwall and Brittany, history, climate and of course the coastal landscapes. Here is one from around Land's End photographed in low light where the afterglow of sunset really can become quite intense on a long exposure. There is even a Breton equivalent of Land's End known as the Pointe du Raz.
Kah Kit Yoong Springtime on the Breton coast. Not sure if this one will necessarily be part of my portfolio longterm but currently I have few landscapes with wildflowers and a sunny disposition. This was one of the few photos where I used a multiple exposure technique and some novel processing which I describe in a blog. http://www.magichourunplugged.com/2012/07/10/crozon-dreams/
Kah Kit Yoong Here's one from last year's New Zealand trip. This spot always seems to draw dramatic lighting. This image was shot just before my workshop last year. Fortunately for the participants, when we stopped by here, they still scored some pretty good light. I've just made some small but very significant adjustments. Funny how even though it's a pretty new photo, I seem to find new things to do with it every time I open it.
