I grew up exploring the wild country of the American West. I came to photography slowly through documenting my outdoor adventures during many years of guiding raft trips on the great wilderness rivers of the U.S. I generally avoid heavily photographed areas in favor of less known country. My specialties are the empty spaces, wilderness lands and undeveloped rivers of New Mexico, Idaho and the Great Basin. I currently live in the California Desert east of the Sierra Nevada.
