Ph.D. in behavioural ecology, the conservation of nature is the aim of my job, and my professional priority. In support of my work or simply by passion, I continue to develop my photographic skills for this purpose, as a testimony of what is needed to be protected.

Eddy REMY Great article ! I'm not very sensitive to the use of B/W in nature photography, except for landscapes where the B/W is dominant (icelandic landscapes for example). Maybe this article will change my mind in this domain...

Larry Monczka It's been wonderful to see work by our European colleagues who rarely have the visibility they deserve in North America. Cheers, Larry.

Whytake In memories of Christophe Sidamon-Pesson

All of us at Whytake were very sorry to hear of the passing of Christophe Sidamon-Pesson.

Before photography, there was nature - Since his childhood, Christophe was in contact with it ...

"At the time I did not take pictures but I especially did many drawings, representing mostly nature scenes ... In the wild world we can learn a lot about ourselves" - he said.

Browsing the "world" in search of dreams and ideals, he was a sensitive photographer, with naivety and a unique sincerity. Images of great purity and beauty, which always carry this essential feeling that everyone can experience when in contact with nature. Today it is no more ... his images remain forever etched in our memories.

His photographs have won several awards: the "BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year" in 2005, "GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the year" in 2008, 2009 and 2010 or the "Audience Award" at the salon Photo in Paris in 2010. Lives of Queyras, he published including "The other side" in the wild of this part of France he loved and he photographed with sensitivity and his talent .

For those who are not familiar with his work, you can visit Christophe Sidamon-Pesson' website:
